Life on Call: How My Birth Bag (and Sanity) Have Evolved

As a birth doula, monitrice, and student midwife, being “on call” means being ready to walk out the door at a moment’s notice — sometimes in the middle of the night. Over the years, my birth bag has evolved from an overstuffed backpack to a streamlined system that makes life on call calmer and more sustainable.
